Mikulov 1/2

For the long weekend around August, 15th, we were going on a two-day bicycle trip with our friends. We took the train from Mödling to Hohenau/March. From there we biked along the Welschriesling Radweg to Falkenstein. The weather was ideal for biking, and the scenery magnificent. Around noon we arrived in Falkenstein. There, we enjoyed the view from the castle and afterward, got delicious food in the “Schmitt’n” (Weingut Dürnberg). We can recommend any food there. However, take the roast pork – it is incredibly tasty! Do not forget to order your roast pork along with a spritzer :)

After this culinary stopover, we headed towards Mikulov. We had already seen Mikulov palace from far away, as it is enthroned on a rock. While approaching a small path, which crosses the border we now see our destination coming closer. We spent the night in the Hotel Bonsai in Mikulov. As we did not arrive that late, we were going to see the city. We all love this place with its beautiful buildings. While we are sitting in a café, a local started a conversation with us. Finally, we get a hint for an excellent dinner restaurant – Sonja & spol. If you want to eat there, book a table!
