Mikulov 2/2

After a delicious breakfast, which we enjoyed in the hotel’s courtyard we rode our bikes uphill towards old town Mikulov. Due to some issues, while planning the tour with alpenvereinaktiv.com, we end up in a more and more steepening path underneath the castle ruin. This track was not suitable for us. However, it was worth pushing up the bikes the first – still flat – stairs, as we enjoyed a fantastic view on the old town :) It took us some minutes and the help of a local to find a better track towards Klentnice – a small country road winding up the hills. We enjoyed a great view of the surrounding landscape from the crest of the hill, before rapidly going down towards Pavlov. From there we biked along the reservoir Nové Mlýny towards Lednice. In Lednice, we stopped for lunch and afterward, visited the palace’s gardens. The palace is amazingly beautiful! Hardly surprising, that it is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Just a short ride from the palace we stopped again at Apollnuv chram. It was time for relaxing and taking a bath in Mlýnský rybník.

After a short rest, we continued our tour towards Břeclav taking a cycle path through the riparian forest of river Thaya. This decision was a lucky punch, as we reach Břeclav precisely at the brewery Zámecký pivovar Břeclav. And – even better – the beer garden was opened :)) The last kilometers took us to Berhardsthal. From there we went back home by train.
